TONGASOA : Madagascar is like no other place on Earth ! Eighty percent of its flora and fauna are found nowhere else. With over 100 different species and sub-species of lemurs, 108 endemic birds, unusual plant life, a fascinating culture of 18 distinct tribes, plus strong Indo-Malay and French influences, Madagascar is an ideal destination for the adventure traveler.
The journey starts in Antananarivo (TANA) where you we will meet and greet . QAlong the RN.7 you will find a ‘pot-pourri’ of travellers’ delights: bustling market towns clogged with colorful rickshaws, distinctive architecture of two-storey mud-brick houses, rice terrasses ,national parks with landscapes ranging from thick jungle to wide open grandeur and some of the best hiking Madagascar has to offer.
Upon your arrival in Antananarivo, you will be met and transferred to your hotel which can take around one hour 30mn drive.
From a distance you will see ,on the highest hill the Queen’s Palace or Rova and the ‘city of the thousand warriors’: Antananarivo (TANA) which in the evening sunshine has the quality of a child’s picture book: “coloured houses stacked up the hillsides with mauve jacarandas, purple bougainvillea against the dark blue sky …rice paddies tended right up to the edge of the city … all deliciously ‘foreign’ and can hardly fail the first time visitor.
